At Custom Merch we use the highest quality vinyl transfer available allowing us to produce high quality customised garments that last. Predominantly we use this method for applying custom names and numbers but it can also be great for small print runs with bold logos on cotton or polyester. HOW IT WORKS

Heat transfer is the process of reproducing an image on vinyl and adhering it to the fabric using high temperature and pressure. The first step is to create a cut file from your artwork which traces and cuts the outline of your design from the vinyl. Simple single colour jobs are cut straight from white or coloured vinyl using our top of the range plotter, whilst more colourful and complex designs are printed onto a special vinyl and then cut. Once we have your artwork printed and cut the vinyl must be ‘weeded’ which involves removing the unwanted areas. We then have the finished design which is carefully positioned on the garment and pressed using high pressure and heat.

PERFECT FOR

Perfect for custom names and numbers, we either cut the design directly from the vinyl or use as printable vinyl for more complex designs. Heat transfer printing sometimes gets a bad rep due to the use of ‘iron-on’ transfers by some companies. We use industrial tested vinyl to provide a high quality and long lasting print.
